Combined with the amphibious capability the barge can operate over the full
spectrum of surface conditions - from marine through to swamp and hard
surfaces. It is particularly capable in marsh and tidal mudflats where it floats
on the surface and drags itself along using "mud paddles" which can also
negotiate grass vegetation of any height.
